Thanks folks. Denise - it's "him". Female cockatiels have 4 characteristic differences, the most subtle being a less intense orange cheek patch:http://www.pbase.com/fitzdocs/image/6653808/original.
Juveniles of both sexes (up to around 6-9 months) are identical to adult females.
