My Accordions
by

DSC02082B.jpg

My dad bought the red accordion for me about 52 years ago. I started playing at 6 years old. Lovely instrument. Great hobby.

Wow...what a thing to collect! I'd have never thought of it because of their size, but they are beautiful instruments. My great-grandmother played accordion (as well as uilleann pipes) - she emigrated from Ireland when she was in her late 20's and moved to New Jersey - she was still playing the accordion well into her 90s. She lived to 105...and I think the accordion playing kept her young!

Troy, I listened & really enjoyed it. Sounded very Parisian to me, although a few years ago there was a guy who played the accordion in the Times Square station in NYC & sounded a lot like you. He made out really well & really cheered the place up between trains. That wasn't you was it?
Anyway thanks for the performance.

Great collection of accordions, and a wonderful hobby! I especially like the looks of that red one. Too bad you can't post some music with the photo :-)

How cool. Love the instrument. Love 1930s French street music. Love Astor Piazzolla's music (I know, that's a bandoleon - no keyboard). The accordion is the official musical instrument of San Francisco (or it was when I lived there).
