Hey, it's just an egg! :-)
But here's what I did to create the image.
First, the ingreditents:
1 regular desk lamp
1 white piece of plain background
1 egg
1 F717 :-)
My goal was to simply photograph the egg and cast a shadow on the background,
and at the same time, make sure my egg doesn't look flat (appears to have depth
and shape)I knew if I shined the light from behind the egg, that the front part
of the egg would be illumnated, while the other side would appear shadowed...
bringing out the shape and form of the egg itself. I did this image in less than
8 minutes so I did not put as much into this as I normally would have... it was
just supposed to be the gallery representive image.
For example: nornally, I would have moved the light source around so that the
reflection of the lamp shade did NOT appear as it does in the top right side of
the image. I also might have used a white card (a white piece of paper would do)
in order to reflect more "white" onto my subject darker side and the background
so it looked more white than grey. I also would have framed my image so that the
egg were closer to the top of the frame and the shadow was longer in the image.
For that matter, I might have photographed this object in horizontal format so
more of the shadow would be seen in the image. The image by is exactly as it was
out of camera. Sorry I did not upload a higher resolution version, I wanted the
image to draw as quickly as possible on everyone's computer, etc.
I hope this information is helpful in some way.
