Okay...I admit I live in a rural agricultural area. Was out taking pics in the country and found this pomegranate orchard that had already been harvested. This group of bugs (Leptoglossus phyllopus -aka "Leaf-footed bug") were on one of the few fruit clusters still hanging on the trees. They are a pest more to Citrus plants (hundreds of acres of orange trees grow nearby!). I reported them to the UC Davis extension, and they were pretty excited about my discovery! These bugs are more common to the southern states...Florida, Texas, and had reached as far west as Arizona according to what I read on the internet. This orchard is in Central California...
