Thanks, MFC. One day I learned about the amazing technique of 'painting with light' and gave it a try. The cube was suspended by a black thread between the 2 chairs in complete darkness. When the shutter was open I shone a flashlight on the areas I wanted to be in the light. After 20-something tries, I began to undersatnd the technique. Camera on tripod, the smaller the aperture the better, shutter on 'bulb'. Cheers!
