This is an egg I painted several years ago, nestled in my favorite glass which was broken a couple weeks ago.
I was upset about the glass breaking, but my second thought was, "That'll make a neat picture!"
Anyway, I ended up cleaning it up a bit in Photoshop as it was a bit dusty and spotty and I couldn't get it sparkling due to its fragile condition.
I don't do a lot of still life / set up shots so I was fumbling around a lot. I know there's things I could do better; specific and general suggestions are welcome. The setup for this was just a piece of big black paper curled into a wave beneath and behind the glass, with a artist lamp and a couple of pieces of blank copy paper to redirect the light a bit.
Here are two other shots that I liked; I'm not certain I picked the best for the challenge: Alt. Shot 2 & Alt. Shot 3
