Thank you Mike and Simon. Mike--good heavens no, not our leader. (I'm still in denial that he even is our leader, even after all these years...). Simon--the background is a wall in my house I painted earlier in the fall. As far as the composition goes, my original idea was to do sort of an 'Elroy was here' type thing, and crop just below the noses. But my various attempts just didn't look right. I preferred this one simply because of the expressions. I was trying to grab several shots before it got too dark (just using daylight and it was late). So I'm afraid most of my attempts were either this much face or less :). --Melanie

Greets. I like the use of negative space and the colours contrast well. If I had to be picky I'd say crop the bottom of the frame by about -5mm to include the bottom of the lefthand bear's face. It's cropped a little too close for me. Really like the colours (what'd you use for a background?). Light a whimsical.
This is really cute, Melanie, especially the hairy face and ears of the smaller one. Very well cropped/composed too...and set against such a pleasing background. The noses are adorable...you just want to reach out and touch 'em. I'm not too convinced, though, about the urgency to take them to see our leader :) Good idea, Melanie...and a fun set-up. MFC
