A view of Aya Eirene Church, situated next to Topkapi Palace and close to the very famous Aya Sofya Church. This was shot at sunset from the terrace of our hotel. Note: I boosted the contrast a bit as per Daniel Bollag's suggestion.

Thank you for the comments, everyone! You could be right about the contrast, Daniel, I'll revisit the image if I have a chance. It's been a real challenge trying to participate in the Challenge, LOL -- I was on three continents in one day (Asia, Europe, North America) at the beginning, stopped for a day in Washington, D.C., am now in Portland and will travel to San Francisco tomorrow, only to return to D.C. on Friday. I've been downloading pics from my pbase account (on dialup, LOL) to put into the challenge. Anyway, thanks again -- makes all this work worth it! Helen

I knew from the beginning of this challenge: You would get something out of your packed luggage that would be on-topic. This challenge fits your work like a glove. I like this image a lot, mainly because of the evening-sunlight (it might, though, bernefit of a tad more contrast??) . And, in addition, I remember the hotel-terrace from which you shot this... — db.

Gorgeous capture Helen. I love old buildings and this church is just beautiful illuminated by the rays of the setting sun! You sure had a nice view from your hotel terrace and you took good advantage of it. Wonderful shot and another great challenge entry.
