Waiting for the Orient Express
by Helen Betts

Istanbul, Turkey

This is the waiting room at Sirkeci Train Station, one my my favorite non-tourist-attraction buildings in Istanbul. I had forgotten that it used to be the end of the line for the famous Orient Express until bottles mentioned it in his comments, so decided to change the title! For more pictures of Sirkeci, go to http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/57462144 and http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/57460943 and next 6 images.

I am on a Nikkor lens site development where I am featuring the 24/120 AFS zoom, I do noticed you shot a lot of pictures using the zoom, do you have a usable, good photo as contributing illustration for its potential lens usage in real life situations ? credit and return link will be provided. please revert using my personal email leofoo@mir.com.my

By the way, this picture is lovely !

What a beautiful building Helen. I did a little research on the Internet and from what I can tell, that building dates back to about 1890. I found the reading, about the station and the "Orient Express", rather interesting. You've certainly done a wonderful job of capturing this old building. Your exposure appears to be right on! Nice shot and great entry.
