yes Frabky, thanks for doing that work for me...
I like your crop very much! But as I was saying in another message, I'm not sure, if this doesn't take away from the subject.
With the crop it is just a square thing and nomore relation to the city...
So even, if I prefer esthetically your crop, I thing I stick to my original. To "put it back' in it's city environment! Thank you very much, Franky for your help...
cheers
Barbara

Barbara, I like the cropped version much better. And as we all are different I would prefer a slight different way of cropping. : -) Thus I could not resist to put another version in the demo folder too. Hope you do not mind. Cheers, Frank

I think it's all a matter of how regularly one takes ones prozac...

Funny how we all look at images differently. No wonder we're often surprised at the outcome of the voting :-) Okay, I guess I have to be different; I like the original version better. I would like it even better if there was concrete on all four sides of the grate, framing the grate. To me, when I view the original, I feel like I'm looking down at it. When I view the cropped version however, I feel like I'm looking forward, like the grate is in a vertical position. Maybe it's just me but I need to see some concrete around the grate.

What a great idea, and very nicely executed. I do think I like the cropped version better -- I just like the "tighter" feel to it. Helen

I have uploaded a cropped version in the demo folder...what do you think?

Great shot! I love those kind of waste images. Personally I would apply more corpping to achieve more symmetry (top and bottom). Also would crop right and left as the item itself (dunno how to name it) delivers a kind of frame. perfect contibution for this theme!

Great catch Barbara! Reminds me a lot of when I was a kid and of scooping out tennis balls that would fall in there from playing road hockey. Unlike inframan, never found any cold hard cash tho ;)

Barbara, how clever of you; I would never have thought of this! I love the title too :-) This is what I like about the challenges, they are full on new ideas! Nice shot and great entry.

Yes! Cool shot!
When I was growing up in NYC every kid (& some adults) at some time or other had a string tied to a bolt with a piece of freshly-chewed gum stuck to it for fishing these grates. Nickels & quarters meant something then. Dimes were too small.

I like this picture very much, as it reflects very strongly to the city-life. MCsaba
