4th: The Many Faces of Ankara
by Helen Betts

Ankara, Turkey

This is a view of the skyline from the citadel area, the old part of town. That's the very old Aslanhane Mosque along with the roof of a tomb in the foreground, with the very grand Kocatepe Mosque in the center and Atakule tower off to the upper left, and pretty much everything else (including my apartment, towards the top of the hill) in between.

I love this image, Helen (and have voted for it); but I feel it needs just a tiny little bit of empty space at the right-hand side, so one could «feel» the *whole* minaret. — db.

Great shot - I love this vast, crowded view of the city!

I love this image Helen. It could be a city anywhere until you see all the spirals and the Aslanhane Mosque in the foreground. Excellent!!

Excellent shot, Helen! What a crammed city! This shot strongly reminds me of 'midnight express' for some reason ;)

Fascinating! I love your exciting information-crammed & sweeping views.
Also very impressed by the capability of the H1 in these panoramic situations. What a welcome change from the usual duck pond/flower shop venues.
