I feel the disturbing factor i.e the pole is the strength of the shot. It is making Big Sister more prominent. Good shot, Barbara!

thanks for your comments! the post is a part of the picture and I think it works this way...it is there by accident for sure, but it is a contribution to the geometric structure....I like it and I do like the different grey tones with the tough red...
I don't think to offend Da Vinci more than the people, who are making actually a lot of money out of this....
cheers
Barbara

Brantley you are over the top on this. Get a life. Work on your own stuff before attacking others.

I don't understand your posts, adam & helen...barabara didn't place the post there, she shot this frm a passing train! I think it's a fabulous image & a great capture!

I like the soft light and shadows and the red and white framing of Mona Lisa, but I'd have to agree with Adam, that I'd prefer it without the pole running down the middle of her face. Good eye to have seen and captured this from a train! Helen

Hello Barbara. I'm not sure how to rate this - while I do like it... the majority isn't your own work! You've taken the poster from the Da Vinchi Code - it's the Mona Lisa isn't it? I've not read the book... And yes - it's a fantastic piece of art - an enigmatic smile, mysterious eyes. But then I look at what you've added to it with this shot - you've placed a lamppost across the nose and framed it in metal. I do like the shadow play across the poster, but I have to say in all other respects I prefer the original!

There's an interesting feel created with the eyes looking out from the detrius, but as I said before, I'm not sure who to credit for this - you or Da Vinchi! I suppose that Leonardo's had his fair share of credit throughout the ages, so I'm sure he won't begrudge a little bit to you here. An interesting attempt. Adam Bramley
