Thanks folks, i was leaning in that direction myself. It was a very pretty sight after the last snowstorm and i wasnt sure that 1/2s handheld exposure would pan out but it did. Mike - you're welcome to come experience suburban MA winters anytime you want :)! ~ g

it's a pity that the base off the trunk is not in the frame. I really like the snow on the branches, it makes them have great depth.

This is going to be no help at all, but I like 'em both almost equally as photos. If pressed, I'd probably go for this one, though, for its natural quality -- mainly because we don't have "real" winters like this in the 'burbs in Oz -- just the half-baked, slushy kind ;-) - Mike
