" LAHORE FORT "
Lahore was capital of Mughal Emperor Akbar’ for the 14 years from 1584 to 1598. He built the massive Lahore Fort on the foundations of a previous fort and enclosed the city within a red brick wall boasting 12 gates.Mughal Emperors Jahangir and Shah Jahan (who was born in Lahore) extended the fort, built palaces and tombs, and laid out gardens. The last of the great Mughals, Aurangzeb (1658-1707), gave Lahore its most famous monument, the great Badshahi Masjid and the Alamgiri gateway to the fort.

Amazing shot!!

BTW, I haven't experimented much with longer exposures (as long as 15s, currently have a Pana FZ15 with 8s max, and f8 min. aperture). Rehan, if you're reading this (or anyone else please comment), wouldn't it have been better if you'd shot it at shorter time with bigger aperture (say 8sec with f8, or even larger aperture, like 5 sec with f5.6 or whatever)? Isn't it always better to shoot with the widest aperture available in low-light? Maybe to have greater depth of field you chose smaller aperture, but still, f13?

Anindiya, the topic here is the pic, not history. Also, if you don't know that there is a fort in Lahore that has gates quite similar to that of the Red Fort in Delhi, then who's the stupid here?

Anindya, What I wrote is based on reality and proved track record all over the world in the books of history, 1ST time I heard from you all this. I think you should study history in great details and then you will be able to pass comments about the histories of great Mughal emperors. Thanks

May be Lahore was not the capital of Mughal Emperor Akbar, may be Akbar did not live in Lahore for a long time, but fact remains this shot is just terrific! Do you agree Anindya? Congratulations Rehan for such a superb take!

Akbar never had a capital at Lahore. His capital was in New Delhi, India. So please do not distort hisory. And all mughal emperors including Aurangzeb, Shah Jahan lived in Delhi and not Lahore. Its funny that some is trying to rewrite history showing a picture, which I think is the Red Fort in Delhi, India.

This is simply stunning, Rehan. The lighting is such that I think it almost looks like a fairy-tale castle! The fort itself is quite striking, but the lighting of the arch frames it very effectively. Nice work! (FWIW, I would have left off the outer white border -- I find it a bit distracting and out of place from the magnificence of your subject :-)). If I ever get to Lahore, this will be the first thing I visit ! Helen
