Chariot of the Goddess. Fremiet

In the East Wing of the National Gallery I found this small sculpture. The shot is cropped a bit from the original and I added some contrast to strengthen both the shadows of the wheels and the figure. Picked up the color in the background by saturating with yellow....that also accentuated the sense of gold and added a bit of majesty to it.

Fremiet, I love the shadows of the object. I didn't actually see them until the second look. The yellow background is a wonderful contrast. Really brings out the sculpture.

You could've called this Essence of Pagan. It's a very evocative image.
