27 AUG 05 Bev Brink

10th Place Tie
Violina
by Bev Brink

Violina, population 24, definitely predates the plastic era.
This little crossroad consists of a church, a few homes,
a tiny school and this general store, which
unfortunately, was closed when we drove through.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Bev, I like this nostalgic, quiet scene...looks like a great place to let some time pass you by. The rocker sure looks inviting to me, covered overhead..and with a good view of the surrounding scenery. Anyone for some checkers? :) Nice photo. MFC

Thanks Deb, Jessa, Helen & Katherine. Jessa - I wasn't very clear about the title, but Violina is the name of the little town. I hope to go back someday and ask about that name. Bev

I love this nostalgic scene - nice composition, lighting and colors! Wow, population 24 - I've never heard of such a small town.

Lovely, serene scene. Good lighting as well. Helen

I agree with Deb, there are lots of things to see in this picture. I can't seem to find the violin though, is it on the white chair? Anyway, beautiful capture!

Wonderful find and capture, Bev! With the newspapers on and by the chairs, it gives the viewer the feeling the occupants went inside for just a moment and are planning to return shortly. The more I study this scene, the more I see. Who knows what other treasures there might have been INSIDE the store!---Deb
