This photo was taken during the Canberra firestorm of 18 January 2003.

What you're looking at is the Tuggeranong Parkway
with street lights on in the foreground
while trees explode in to flames in the Stromlo forest behind.

I managed to take about five shots at this location when I realised
the fire had jumped the parkway and was spreading behind me.
