A gray day seemed made for black and white on what the Algonquin Nation called "The River that Flows Two Ways" - also known as the Hudson River - which runs from Lake Tear in the Clouds in the Adirondack Mountains past Manhattan Island to the Atlantic Ocean. It was so-called as the river is tidal for nearly half its length - flowing backwards at least partly about 150 miles as the tides change.
This view is from the eastern shore looking south toward the Tappan Zee Bridge...one of the few crossing point across this wide river (and used by yours truly on his daily commute).
