Droplets by Penelope

This is the side view of a glass lit from below.
The green is alcohol, the white water, and the drops are oil.
I floated the alcohol on top of the water by pouring it over the back of a spoon, some of it disolved in the water to make a white cloudy liquid
The drops of oil were introduced with an eye dropper.
They float above the water and below the surface of the alcohol.
Magic !!

Great job - that's really cool how perfect the little droplets are hanging! I like the soft, milky glow also.

Well, this is pretty amazing, Penelope! It's so perfectly executed, it almost looks unreal, especially the droplets that remind me of little Christmas tree ornaments :-). Very creative work. Helen

Penelope, I really like the glowing soft light of this image...and how the overall softness of the "vessel" contrasts with the sharpness of the drops. Simple and minimal, this makes a great abstract. So, what exactly am I looking at here...is it oil in water? I'm very curious. Nice shot. MFC
