Milk & Honey *
by mlynn

A first attempt, I'll keep trying.
The milk flattened out too much to be interesting...not enough cohesiveness.

Nice composition - I like the swirls of honey, and the lighting and color!

Wow, a very rich effect with that honey! Beautiful light and texture as well. I think that has possibilities just by itself, although you'd lose your good title. Helen

Mlynn..I love the layered effect you achieved here.Your honey resembles an illuminated snake..really nice fluid line that glistens..the starburst is perfect..[*asking}the milk is jarring at first because of its stark whiteness against all the organic colours..though somehow it quietens down and adds to it .. [notice how the milk spot in the upper right begins to blend.] I find this to be a wonderful piece of texture contrast light &fluidity..Artistic...irish

Thank you both. Mike, yes...it is on a piece of glass resting on a piece of textured gold paper (outside in the sun). I'm not sure what I think of the milk-- I wanted it for contrast (and the title), but I kind of wish I had some without it too (but I'd already added it). --Melanie

Melanie, I like your piece of abstract art here...the tones of the fabric(?) work well with the natural tones of the honey. I also like how the drops of milk add an element of contrast to the scene...and make it even more interesting to ponder in my mind's eye. I don't mind the milk drops being flat here. Nice play of light and shadow too. Is this taken on glass? Nice shot. MFC

I really like this one, Mlynn! I like the highlights, the pattern of the honey, the background and overall color. I'm not sure I like the milk in the "mix" here but, then you couldn't call it Milk N Honey :-) Markjay
