9th Place (tied)
Radioactive Solitaire*
by Teddy

CA, USA

Shot taken in total darkness, painted with two torch lights (one below and one above).

Using a Sony DSC-V3 in manual mode. I needed the whole 15 seconds to evenly distribute the light around to highlight the details.

No post processing done, just rotated, cropped, resized, and framed using PS Elements 2.0.

Comments are welcome.

Teddy, This is a great example of painting with light. I never though of using two torches, thanks for the tip.

I really like the results of this "painting with light" technique. Gotta try it sometime.

This is what I came up with after several failed attempts doing IR. The setup is really simple and easy. And the object is just about 2 feet from a white wall! I really love the outcome, so I think it's worth a shot to share it in this challenge. Thanks for the comments Mike. ~ Teddy

Really effective lighting technique, Teddy...something I'll have to try sometime. Beautiful color, shape, and sense of texture in the bud. Simple...good background contrast too. MFC

The bud seems to float, as it's evenly lit. Good job, I like it.
