Challenge 84: Simple Still-Lifes (hosted by Sonny Asehan)
Challenge 84 was about Still-Lifes, which is probably one of the more challenging disciplines as it demands far more creative input from the photographer than most other subjects.
With Landscape or Outdoor photography, you start off with a full canvas and you simply move your camera to decide which of the elements you'll be including in the frame. With still-lifes, you begin with an empty canvas and the success or failure of your image will depend on your imagination and skill with composition and lighting.
Simple household items can be used as props in your still-lifes, such as bowl of fruit, fresh vegetables, old shoes, children's toys, coins, stamps, old bottles, etc. "Found" items such as window displays, flower arrangements in restaurants, etc. can also produce interesting images.
