Cable Car Powerhouse

The drive wheels which power the cable of the San Francisco cable car system. The drive wheels are attached to 500+ horsepower GE electric engines which run the cable at a stable 9.5 miles per hour. The powerhouse is located at the corner of Washington and Mason streets in San Francisco.

I like the repeating pattern of the wheels and the movement in the spokes. Nicely composed and exposed.
