Peace Park Perspective #3
by Helen Betts

Okinawa, Japan

A map of the Pacific region can be seen in the pool. The Philippines are in the right foreground; China, Taiwan and Korea are on the left; and the cone is located directly on Okinawa, with a bit of Japan showing behind it.

Thanks, Jim. I was trying for something different, and yes, I did have to work for it! I tried using my monopod to get a higher perspective, but it just wasn't working the way I wanted, so I hoisted the camera as high as I could (I'm 5'2", so not very high), squinted to see what I was shooting, answered questions from passing Okinawans about what in the world I was doing, and shot the picture. Hi Helen, this is my favorite of the series. Although I like the simplicity (that's a good thing, here) of the compositions of the others, this one has a nice unique perspective. I appears you had to work for it. Nice. Jim Fuglestad/Shutter
