Arn, A beautiful composition and an interesting discussion. I like the way the branch frames the scene but I also found the blur distracting. Jesus

Mark, like it that you brought the distracting branch to my attention. I had blind spot in my eye and had neglected the branch. That little tweak improved the image. I tried cropping the image too, but I'm not sure if it's an improvement or not.http://www.pbase.com/arn/image/34253525 . Myself, I find the original with the blurred branches included better (but I want to hear how people think about it).

Well now, I'm sorry I "started this" direction in your image post area, Arn. I was just wondering about the (as you now describe it) blur. I had no idea what it was? Would it be too much off the top to crop out the tree altogether... just where the branch enters the image on the right? No matter, it's a very beautiful image, Arn. Markjay

But the blur is due to the wind! (trust me, I was there ;) This image is pretty much what I saw. It's a three second exposure, so the branhes had plenty of time to move... Those guys were just so deep in admiration of the sunset and held still... -Arn

That would be a stellar capture ... except the tree branches seem a bit strange to me. Blur can not be due to the wind because the whole scene transmits tranquility

I cloned the distracting branches away... They were unneccessary clutter. This is better, don't you think? -Arn

Thanks, Mark. Those are the lowest tree branches, that swung in the wind (and got motion blurred). Maybe I should have cloned them out... I've been trying to avoid cloning lately, as much as possible. -Arn

Beautiful image, Arn. Would you tell me what those "smoke-like" dark areas are on the left side of the image and, over the man on the left sides head? Are they clouds? Markjay
