Making a Difference*
by Deb Kees

"It is better to light one candle than curse the darkness."---Chinese Proverb adopted by the Christopher Society as their motto.

The Christopher Society was founded 55 years ago by a Jesuit priest who was concerned about the power of the media and its ability to promote violence and negativity. He and a group of friends started this society to honor people in the fields of literature, TV, and film who manage to do creative, quality work while promoting positive and uplifting messages.

Deb, striking handling of this very simple subject. The overall composition, warm glow in the colors, silhouette of the dripping wax and candlestick...all lovely. I appreciate the additional notes on the Christopher Society added to the old proverb. -Michael
