The Worse for Wear
by Helen Betts

Ankara, Turkey

It's always an adventure to climb these stairs next to my apartment -- they're like a minefield, but pretty par for the course here :-).

Helen, through your eyes (and lens), I see beauty in places where I would not have thought to look.

Helen I get tired just looking at the pic. Excellent perspective on this shot.

Great detail and lighting, Helen. I think we all feel that "we are there". If you manage to stay upright, you should have great balance and agility by the time you leave Turkey:-) Bev

It does seem like an adventure to get up to your apartment! Nice shot, perfect for the challenge.- Ryan(golfers2424)

Helen, while this image has strong leading visual lines, I particularly enjoy the nuances of detail on every step. -Michael

Deb, unfortunately I have to climb up and down them every day as they lead to the garden where I take my dog. And how ever did you guess about the "night lighting" :-) Helen

Helen, very good example of lines and angles here. I like the perspective. You say these steps are NEXT to your apartment. Does that mean you do not have to use them? Let me guess, they're not lighted at night.---Deb
