Metal of Honor*
by Deb

Many bracelets of this kind were worn during the 70's to pay tribute to soldiers who were either MIA or POW's in Vietnam. The bracelets were worn until the named soldiers came home. If memory serves, the white on blue stars were placed on the bracelet when the soldier returned to the US. Although I did not support the war, I did want to show my support of the troops. I wore this one during my freshman year at college. Capt. Kerr was captured in January 1967 and returned home in March 1972.
News(to me)Flash!!!---Just found out that these bracelets are still sold and worn. If interested in learning more, here's something to start you out. http://www.powmiaff.org/

Good idea, Deb...nice colors, composition, and lighting/exposure. Great textural detail too. Your caption adds a lot to the enjoyment of this photo. That's really a nice way to honor those who are missing. MFC

very attractive photo that entices the viewer into demanding to know more. *only nit for me is that the gray background on the right should have been darkened to match that on the left to eliminate the only distraction. Otherwise, terrific photograph. regards...Keith T.
