Appeal in Brass
by Helen Betts

Okinawa, Japan

As I understand it, this was used to hold water in some sort of religious ceremony, and the script is supposed to be a prayer. It's an old Turkish piece, although I think part of it has been reconstructed.

Very nicely captured and I hear what Mark is saying. I've been staring at this for a while now and it sure fools the eye! I *know* it's concave and in the thumbnail it looks like it, but when I view the original size... This would look good as a large print. -Arn

This is one of those optical illusions, did you notice? If you stare at this long enough, it's hard to determine of the metal is concave or convex :-) I have a very similar image people stare at for LONG and still can't figure out he he. Markjay

You captured the glow of this elegant piece beautifully, Helen. Very nice. Bev
