Thank you everyone! Nancy, I took your suggestion and removed the frame...I wasn't sure about it either ;). Mark-- I think it's a bit of kelp/ seaweed. I have another non-wide angle picture of the same subject >> here Although it's really no easier to determine what it is in that picture ;). Melanie

well done, melanie, a classic composition, subject / scene is great for wide angle, and you gave me interest throughout the photo. can't ask for much more! ;-) -- andy

Love the saturation of the color in this. It is a rich yet peaceful scene. Beautiful! Ann

This is just beautiful, Melanie. The colors are exquisite and I'm loving the slight diagonal line created by the path of the sun and the 'left behind.' [*] I'm not sure about the frame. The colors of it go well with the image, but I feel like the image would stand well on its own. Or maybe just a simpler frame? Again, just beautiful. ~Nancy/JoseNoway

A very pretty scene, with nice composition, Mlynn. I just can't tell on this monitor (I'm on my smaller PC system right now) what it is was left behind :-) Markjay
