purple flower by Katherine Kenison

The flower was really white and yellow, but it came out purple in raw format IR.

Very unusual and lovely image, Katherine. Makes me wish daffodils were really purple! Helen

Oooohhh! I really like this one, Katherine. Of course, purple is one of my favorite colors. The detail is also quite nice. Look forward to seeing more of your work.---Deb

That's one of the great things about IR Katherine. It really does change the way things look. I love the striking colours of this images set against the black background. If you can reshoot it, I'd try a few more compositional variations in portrait and landscape mode, from up close and further away to see which you like best.

Well Done

I did use adobe camera raw, and I know I can change the white balance, but I don't know what color IR is supposed to be, so I figured purple is as good as any color :).

hiya kk -- did you use adobe camera raw? that can't decode the right wb so it always comes out very cool with a purply tint. you can always adjust the wb slider in the raw converter to your taste. just fyi and if you already know this then i'm sorry ;-)

i like this very much though, it fits the "ir dreams" for sure!
