This from one IR image that I individually cut out each element into
separate layer masks and hand coloured it. To get the colour right I used
the eye dropper tool from a regular colour photo taken in the same spot. The
paint brush tool is then used in colour mode. Each layer is blended at
roughly 90% with the base monochrome image and then flattened. The base
monochrome IR image was prepared first by selectively lightening and
darkening areas using levels, dodge and burning.

Chris,
I fell in love with this image the moment I saw it. If I am not mistaken you took two shots (1 colour & 1 IR) and you used parts of both. I love the drama in the stormy sky contrasted to the tranquility of the sunny grass. And all of this is underpinned by the careful placement of the tower.
