Crowning Glory
by Helen Betts

Ankara, Turkey

Well, at Bev's suggestion -- although I hate to do something so obviously on the same subject -- I'm posting my spruce bud as well since I figure it's a different enough treatment to permit it. (In fact, this was the only one left by the time I got back there after first seeing it, LOL.) Taken in my apartment's garden in a pretty heavy wind and not the greatest light.

Helen, I love this! You really captured the 'process' nicely - and how cooperative of the spruce to save one good example for you :-) Bev

I like how you have captured the "paper" peeling down! Nice going, Helen.

Very cool Helen, especially under the conditions you describe. Really nice take on the theme. John

Helen.. I really am loving both these versions of the spruce buds!! I say great minds think alike...Yours and Bev's!! My Eyes are forever tuned to this phenomenum of natures wrapping paper..Great shot of the actual peeling back of the onion skin like tissue with its curley q-ish shrivel.... I am sure there is something medicinal we are supposed to mimic here..Odd/amazing/clue to ..thank you both for bringing this to challenge attention..irish_eye
