John, thanks for the kind words and also for the critique. I'll have to think about how I can change things around to remove that distracting line between dark and light background. I suppose I could close the door, which might allow for more of a one-toned background.---Deb

Deb: Striking image and great idea. (*) i like the key being out of focus and the keyhole being in such sharp focus. The background pulls me away from the subject a bit...the positioning of the light/dark line as well as its angle. In spite of that the image remains strong. John

Deb, I like all the textural detail "exposed" by the reflected light. Well composed with the approaching key...& effective DOF. Nice idea and photo. MFC

Thanks for your kind words, everyone. Bill, I thought about showing a finger, or two, but was afraid the image would look too crowded. I might play with your suggestion, just the same. Thanks for the input.---Deb

As Miguel stated...great use of DOF. Very nice lighting here and "Nice Sharpness". I also like the contrast in this shot. I have to wonder what it would look like with the 2 fingers on the key? Great photo Bill B

Yes! I like this macro close up of the key hole..Looking at it at this distance the opening takes on a strange new symbology..
Nicely exposed wth lots of detail. Good stuff. irish_eye
