Mike, you did good! I am such a sucker for this kind of image. It's watercolor, collage, texture, line, form... it's got everything. Very cool. --Nancy/JoseNoway

This really draws me in, Mike...I especially like the anemone-like projections from "within" & the short spiral leading to a clear view of the vase & flowers. Beautiful coloring...well done. MFC

Andy, the mother-of-pearl look was a by-product, actually, and the natural colour and slight crazing in the neck is far more striking when seen alone. I just felt it needed that screened-back flower to give the 'dreaming' effect -- the tiny view in the depths of the vase didn't quite work on its own. I just wish I had more of a free imagination with this stuff... :-)

i love the mother-of-pearl-y colors in this abstract-y image you've made mike! this is quite an engaging photo, and one that i've come back to several times before commenting. well done, congrats on a fine piece of work! -- andy

Well it's unusual for me to think in this direction, but it just seemed to be begging for this treatment. We were all brought up warm enough to anthropomorphism in song and story, and I guess empty vases have always struck me as kind of lonely :-) - Mike

Quite a cosmic marriage of organic abstraction and striking opalessent colour Mike . A twist of personification in the opening.. a glimpse of an inanimate's realization..a human factor(~!*)..fantastical. irish_eye
