Cute image, Nancy. You caught this little guy's determination well - something about his stride. Very nice. Bev

**Update (heee!): I just got home and this was still really bugging me. I loaded the original into Photoshop and couldn't see any of that white halo stuff going on. I re-saved for the web and uploaded it to my own website (thinking maybe this had been a PBase-thing). When I flipped back and forth between the PBase version and the one on my site, I knew immediately that I *had* sharpened it. The only thing I can figure out is that USM is such a part of my routine... and giving it one more zap after cropping to web dimensions is a part of that routine, that I must've done it without realizing it.

The upshot of this mini-drama is that I've substituted the re-saved version. Are we having fun yet? --Nancy/JoseNoway

i'm digging this image - love the two of them -- i keep looking wanting to see more of the red helmet kid - and that adds some mystery to it, too ;) well done. andy

*Nevermind-- I just checked a bunch of the other images in the gallery and several of them have the same phenom going on. Now I'm wondering if Noise Ninja did this for me?

*Hmmmm.... I am looking at this photo from a different monitor right now and can see a white halo around the kids' helmets and several other places. I usually associate this banding with the use of a selection tool, but nothing like that was used in this photo. And no, this photo wasn't over-compressed, in case anyone was thinking that ;-). Not much, if any USM was used, either. There was some PF (still is, a bit, around the shadow), so I'm wondering if this white halo is consistent with that?? --Nancy/JoseNoway
