You came really close to capturing an image that has been in my head for nearly 30 years. My oldest son was born in November. Because of his birthdate, he needed to be tested during the summer break to see whether he should start Kindergarten that year or to hold off. Routine, right? Well, we got to the school's office and some college kid came to get my son. I stood up to go with and was told that I needed to wait in the office. I watched as my kid, with his chest all puffy (feeling grownup and proud) walked down a long hallway very similar to this one, lighting and all. My baby!
