Ed, I understand what you're saying...and I like what you captured here. MFC

Thanks for the input. The image isn't as sharp as I would have liked (but it is a small portion of the total image taken, so that could have something to do with it). I would have liked a little more light/brightness, it was shot in late afternoon in the shadow of a building. It was also taken yesterday in Chinatown, NYC during the parade, I was with the wife and two kids, so lugging around a tripod was out of the question. Maybe in 10 or 15 years when they no longer want to hang out with their parents :) Ed

good idea - plenty of papery-texture here and color! -- andy

EWKPhoto, I really like this sea of colorful ribbons...almost an abstract. The exposure seems right on & it's a good idea. Hope it was a fun party :-) (*) I think this photo is nice "as is", but I can see Paul's point too. Trying an "f" stop with a lot of DOF & wanting no motion blur would probably mean using a tripod. These remarks also aren't very helpful if you prefer a slightly softer look & less DOF here. Nice, festive take on textures. MFC

I love the colors, the idea, and the contrast of the image. Very nice. *I'd like to see it just a bit sharper - the crispness would add something to the colors I think* But great image!
