MFC, these are coconuts, sold here at the Chinese New Year Market. The outer layer's been peeled off already and it only takes two skilled chops to open it for drinking and scooping out the flesh. Thanks for your comment with the lighting - unfortunately this shot was not set up so I had to take it the way it was (not that I had known what to do better anyway - still trying to learn from people like you.

Photon Catcher, I like the repeating shapes, the subtle texture, and the muted color here. Effective DOF effect too. What kind of nuts are these? (*) I like it "as is"....might experiment with some additional lighting too. Nice shot. MFC
