Deeeep Breath*
by JoseNoway

This kid looked for all the world like one of the Norman Rockwell characters. He's right at that wonderfully gawky teenager stage where parts of his body are growing at different rates of speed. And there he was, playing his tuba with the best of them.

Mike, the vignette is a pretty cool idea and might work if I had a bunch of extra pixels surrounding him. Unfortunately, what you see is how it was shot. All that would be left is maybe part of the kid's face. I know that the background on this one has a lot going on, but the whole scene tickled me. It really was a motley bunch of people that day.

To Sharonslp: I know! It reminds me of my kid's band days-- my own, too! I loved it.

You captured the intensity and concentration beautifully. Takes me back to when my kids played in the band. Sharonslp

Nancy, I like how you captured this guy "playing hard", those neck muscles really tightened. It's a nice candid shot. I think the color of his shirt compliments the warmth of the scene too. MFC

(*) I've never tried one, but applying some type of elliptical vignette around the central area of this shot might be effective here too. I also like it "as is". MFC
