Bravo! Lighting is perfect and the droplet is placed right on the sweet spot of the rule of thirds. I love the simplicity of this shot. El-See

Perfect composition and lighting... The b&w works really well (I like the blue one too, but this one's even better, IMO) -Arn

Kudos, Mike. Your attempt succeeded more than I think you may realise. I'd like to place my advance order on your upcoming Photography book. ;) - Simon.

ARE you THE Perfection, Mike? It seems so!

Thanks, Melanie. Like the other drop photo, I positioned a feather/drop on black construction paper. I positioned the camera on a tripod as close as possible to the drop and "locked-in" to a composition ... I also used a cable release. The adjustments/trials I made were to continually flex the neck of my halogen desk lamp to get a variety of different lighting effects/shots. I then kept shooting both of these many times & chose the ones I liked best. Experimenting with the manual settings(by keeping f/8.0 constant & varying the speed) also helped change the amount of light/shadow distant to the main subject. That's about it. MFC

Another perfect one Mike. The feather bits are so well defined. And I really like the way it fades to black. How did you do this? Melanie (mlynn)
