These are mercury coated metal cups. The inside of the cups are colored. They are meant for holding tea candles. I shot this with natural daylight, indoors. At a certain angle, the iridescent glow is very strong and 3-dimensional, and at another angle it looks flat and lifeless. I have not tried shooting it with the lighted tea candles, so I don't know what that will look like ...

Bobby, I really like your lineup of a dozen shimmering circles here...the lighting and colors are beautiful...effective contrast too. Are the cups themselves colored, or is the color due more to the lighting? Nice shot...and a good idea. MFC
