I wanted a more dignified title, but couldn't think of anything that agreed with me.
I realize this doesn't quite fit the challenge; but sometimes change is too sudden and harsh to be viewed as graceful in the moment, but beauty returns in time.
Yesterday we were out on one of our currently active fires (the Snow-Talon fire), looking for fish kill/ survival in Copper Creek;
which was hard hit by this fire (and may still be harder hit).
The odd pink tinge to the ground surface in a couple of the pictures is due to a retardant drop that fell partially across the creek.
One of the things we were looking for in that particular area, was to see if the retardant drop contributed to any fish kill.
