Very nice, particularly the industrial wasteland in the background. I also like the way the shilouette is rigidly 2-dimensional, flattend and overhwelmed by the light power and mess around it. You've set the figure off by making it the only diagonal in a world of right-angles, and the limp right arm speaks eloquently of powerlessness and despair, as does the hanging head. Not a comfortable picture, but a very well executed photo. Eric Hatch

Vikas, this is a very affecting portrait. It really conveys your mood well. Lisafx

I didn't see melancholic either, but can see defeat, exhaustion, or maybe torment. Beautiful photo in any case. --Nancy/JoseNoway

Australian title: 'A hard days thirst deserves a long cold beer...' (just jokes - man, it's quiet in here:). Well set up - the doorway w/enough of the courtyard and interior to give me a feeling of transition. Hot day? Worked hard? Went hard being a tourist? Just finished scrubbing the walls? You look fatigued. - Simon Bennett.

I like the warm lighting and the contrasting silhouette and shadow. Just a constructive thought about the title: melancholy did not come first to mind when I looked at the image; I thought "exhausted" or "defeated." JoeSchmoe
