Well I, for one, am only looking at the cologne. Beautiful photography, clean *hard* lines. Yup. Only see the cologne. :D --Nancy

Melanie......thanks for your comment, it made me laugh, heee heee......all the women buying this product in the hope that their sweeties will look like that. That is funny! :-) ............ Vikas
Sony Forums Challenges27-Jul-2003 02:05
Very well done! And effective too-- I can visualize hosts of women going out to buy this product for their sweeties (with the subconscious hope that they'll turn into that!) :-). Melanie (mlynn)

Beautiful work! This really looks professional. And thanks for the nice shot of the guy with great abs ;-). Lisafx

I like it! Yes it has erotic overtones and that seems appropriate given the subject of the ad. Ann C

Well, Vikas, the best ad is sometimes that which generates the most controversy (there's no such thing as bad publicity, right?), and this has generated it's share both in terms of layout and content. I've been sitting out this debate to see where you ended up with the image, and I must say I think it's fine as it is now. Bold use of the body without being obscene or even erotic, and good use of green hues to tie the product to the body. There's also a competing tension between the body and the product inset which works. JoeSchmoe

I agree with LancD that the image should be cropped a bit further up, as it is the full pubic region is exposed and is just above the genital area since the man is shaved and most of all this does emphasise that the man is indeed completely naked. If the image is cropped further up it can be argued that the man might be wearing a short or pants, but as it stand we know that isnt the case. That besides I doubt an advert like this would appear in billboards or magazine targeted for family/children.

Only saw the change in border just now. Very effective, so much more one total. Unbelievable how such a small change can have such a big impact. Willem

The important thing about this image is that it's "energy" reflects the style and substance of the line it advocates. That makes it a very strong candidate. Fremiet

While I don't think this shot should be classified as "nudity", I think crop the body a little more (up) would make it a bit less "aggressive" in term of expression (excuse me for lack of a better words :-) without taking away the beauty of it.
Sony Forums Challenges23-Jul-2003 09:52
Dear Taikonaut, thanks for your comment and I agree that offensive nudity on this site should be restricted but don't quite agree that a man's bare torso classifies as 'nudity' in the literal sense of the word. One can see a lot more nudity on a public beach for instance or even on a warm summer day when the men take their shirts off or at a swimming pool, etc. Even a Calvin Klein underwear ad in a magazine has more 'nudity' than this man's bare torso. I appreciate your viewpoint but am just trying to put the word, 'nudity' in perspective.

I dont agree that using nudity should be in a family site, I thought there was a rule against this?
Other than that its well done.

Go for three today? (comments lol). Your finished product is now just that... a great finished product!!! The low key border around the product, now gives the product a feeling of almost being set back (depth) that I really love! That combination of product image with depth and, the washboard tummy (it should be outlawed! lol) , really looks cool now! Mark J

Very trendy and stylish. Well done!

I like it alot this way too, Vikas...seems to have a little more "mood" by downplaying both borders. Again, very nice..and really effective advertising too IMO. MFC
Sony Forums Challenges22-Jul-2003 19:48
Mark/MFC, thanks for your comments, appreciate them. Have gotten rid of the larger pic border and made the smaller pic border black. Guess I do like it better this way. :-) Thanks for helping out......................... Vikas

Vikas, very nice set of photos here, effectively put together too IMO. The lighting is great on both, & I really like the color scheme. I like the contrast between product and torso...and the effective advertising. Maybe a very thin light grey line on the large image would accentuate the product even more, but I like it as is too. I really like this alot. MFC

Vikas, if you don't mind my adding a second comment? It wasn't so much the border around the product that I did not like... it was in combination with the outer image border. I should have expressed that properly earlier, sorry. Lose the outer image or, at least experiment without it :-) Mark J
Sony Forums Challenges22-Jul-2003 09:35
Thank you all for your comments, appreciate them. Regarding the 'body' in this shot, unfortunately that isn't me... :-( Also, the reason I put the border around the product was that without the border, it looked incomplete and also this focused more attention on the product which was what I wanted. :-) ..... Vikas

That's me in the pic folks! (just kidding). Great shot, well thought out, nice colors, don't like the picture in picture border (like I'm watching pic in pic on T.V. :-)
Nice work as usual, Vikas. Mark J

Great colors, great lighting. Selfportrait? :P -Arn-

Excellent shot. Lighting is great.

Been to the gym lately ? LOL. Like the image a lot, lot's of class. Body and color really fits well with the image you want to create with the product. Also love the light in the product shot. The only thing I can comment on is the product package. Half is cut off and therefore it emphasises the picture in a picture. Willem

The good colors (although i wouldn't use two different green colors - saturated and desaturate), nice tecture of the human skin.

The "Truth Calvin Klein" is too close to the border. I also don't like the white border aroung the small photo.

Lovely use of color combination. I really like the green tint of the body that reminds me of an old cooper statue. Nice job! ZoomBoy
