Log Reflection*
by JoseNoway

California

I went on a field trip to a local park this afternoon and realized
that this image would be perfect for the Light Challenge. I love what
the late afternoon sun did to the water and the resulting reflections.

**Image is now cropped to reflect MFC's suggestion of a water-only idea. I think I like it.

A bit o'sharpening full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I agree. I love Monet, .........and your photo.

Very nice, Nancy. I don't recall what the original looked like, but this reflection only reminds me of a Monet painting. Helen

I too like the image both ways, but I think I'm partial to the new crop with reflection only. I particularly like the tonal level you chose and that it's a bright and playful image. Well done. Michael Puff

Nice abstract, Nancy. I liked it the other way too, but I esp like it this way. MFC

Thank you for your comments-- they're much appreciated. I hadn't thought about cropping it, but given that a big part of the attraction (for me) is its simplicity, I think it's a great idea.

Nancy, I like the calm/serene feeling of your photo...esp because of the way light and color reflect in the water. I also like how you chose to compose this. (*)If you feel like it, you might also experiment with cropping out the top part just below the water line to achieve an abstract of water only...nice either way. MFC
