Glamour series 3 (Exhibition) by Arlene

All the glamour series were shot at the same time using the exact same lighting setup in my studio.

Very nice, classy shots exhibiting a glamorous style! How could these possibly offend anyone is beyond belief. Gasp, should they ever go into a grocery store and walk by the magazine racks.............. :-) Keep up the great work.

Very nice image, very well done. Hardly provocative in this day and age in our society. On the other hand we have 'guests' from all over the world where there are cultures that find Donald Duck to be offensive. Donald does not where pants! Interestingly enough he does wrap a towel around himself after a shower.

Come on people, get a reality grip here. The model is not wearing a bathing suit, so it's not violating the contest rules. Yes, some skin is showing, but no more than any model shows in a fashion magazine. I say this jokingly, but are we going to change the challenge rules so all women are required to wear Afghan burqas? Let's keep perspective on the challenge topic and judge the photo objectively for it's artistic merit. Subjective critique based on morality is irrelevant and doesn't help the photographer.

I believe the back-lighting on the head is necessary since the model has dark hair and she is posed before a dark background. Without the backlighting, the hair would blend into the background, similar to how the gloves blend into the background. The highlights in the hair add a very nice secondary contrast and help the hair to frame the face.

The white lace on the model's top is overexposed and the pattern detail is lost. Considering the majority of dark tones in this photograph, it would be interesting to see if the white lace could be captured in crisp detail without loosing some of the darker details. I would adjust the back lighting so the highlights in the hair are evenly balanced. I've already mentioned the gloves blending into the background, but they are not the focal point of the photograph, so it's a minor detail.

Overall, this is a beautifully composed photograph.

beautiful shot Arlene,almost perfect exposure,maybe it's my monitor but the white on her top seems a tad washed, otherwise VERY well done!, oh p.s. I have no problem with the subject matter, she appears dressed enuf.....Jeff

the clothing is sleazy looking........would not want my wife or daughter to be seen dressed this way.
Photo: hair light from behind is too harsh ,,,,,lips are pursed in an unnatural way

This phot is excellent. I wish I could take shots like this!! Ignore this guy. Ther eis always one in the crowd. If your concerned about what your kid sees here then throw away your TV and don't ever go to the beach or the local pool. Stever

How it's possible to post pictures like those? Kids could be watching them, there're people with, apparently, higher moral values than yours, don't you think you're offending 'em? What a shame.....

Oooops, wife's gone, she was watching behind my back. Now back to looking those gorgeous ladies. Great job Arlene!

The photo is very tasteful to me. Arlene, you are right, even here in Virginia the ladies can wear less than this to the beach. Glamour is in the eye of the beholder. Keep up the great work.

This is perfect glamour photography and youve done well. Theres nothing wrong with it at all except the lighting is a little old style(back lit behind the head) but it as long as it works and the subject likes it then its ok. This photo also looks like it was shot on film - ZipperZ

The woman above is wearing more on her body than most women wear at the beach. I have no interest in photographing half nude women. This girl is a very pretty and desirable young woman shown off to her best advantage. What's wrong with photography that romantizes and glamourizes people. She is not a model -- just a girl who wanted some beautiful photos of herself perfectly made-up and dressed. It's not easy to show people off to their best advantage. It takes a lot of effort because every detail of the photo is important - the pose, the lightinng, the attire chosen, the make-up, and most important of all--the expression--it must be an expression that suits the subject perfectly. For some it is a smile, for others serious, or playful or sad. This is part of the artistry of creating a glamorous image. I hope this helps you to see this image in a more positive light.
