Migration

The Canadian Prairies

The early evening sky is alive with Canadian Geese and friends during their annual journey North. In this picture they are swarming before landing for food in a farmer's field. The sound is deafening.

Oh wow! Imagine the mess on the grass when they are gone! Good shot! Kim

Thanks Ann, The night I took this photo was a remarkable night. I was traveling home and the atmosphere was alive. I was like a little kid. Luckly I was alone or I couldn't have stopped every two minutes. I also used the Mpeg on the F707 to capture the geese landing and 'swarming'. I did that for my wife as she loves this kind of stuff. I wish I had my camcorder with me, but you can't have everything. Jasper.

Hey Jasper
I am hoping to get to Beaverhill Lake, resting stop for thousands of snow geese, this weekend. They are late arriving here because of a lack of open water to land on. This is a cool photo.
