Red Shadow*
by Ann Chaikin

Our Deck

Shadow on our deck made by the sun shining through a red blown glass bowl. It is a hanging bowl so the hanging wires and the hole they are through show in the shadow. The texture is the trex material that our deck is made of.

This is a revised version without the glass bowl showing. Thanks MFC for the suggestion. I copied the comments from the other one.

Ann, I'm not sure when you revised this; but I missed it when I reviewed photos for voting...I really like it alot this way. Very nice abstract to view again and again...intriguing and interesting to me. MFC

The Trex texture gives a mysterious, foggy effect with the velvety colors. Arv

Very cool red reflected pattern, it makes for an interesting image. Melanie (mlynn)

Mike, that's a good idea. I can see how that would be another interesting way to see this. I left the top in because I liked the echo of the light spot in the upper left and lower middle. I think I'll make one of your idea too. ;) Ann

Neat abstract, Ann...I really the patterns of color and shadow, esp how the wires are shadowed on the decking. I also would really like this as a more simple composition by cropping off the top portion down to the top edge of the decking. MFC
