TWILIGHT, By Jason Wiersma, aka:Photojay

Yale Town, Vancouver, BC, Canada

This is part of my neighbourhood, in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I live basically right where i took this shot from. It was one of my first shots with the F707. I enjoy many strolls along the pacific coast where i took this photograph.
Any critique on this would be much appreciated.

Sony DSC-F707
F8.0, 1/100, flash off, ISO 100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Beautiful photo, Jason. A bit difficult to critique! I love the colors, the yellow reflection on the building and on the water. I don't like the white boat looking so "dull" and would have liked to have seen the rest of the boat. Perhaps if you had composed a little more to the right (thereby trimming the left as commented on by another) it might help the rule of thirds. The most dramatic element is the reflection! How about a vertical format? I hope you can take some more photos and experiment with some different angles. -- Dee

Beautiful shot Jason. I had no idea you lived so close by. I love Vancouver and this photo demonstrates why. It is a beautiful city! Ann

Very nice picture. I especially like the reflection of the sun on the water. I believe the 1/3 rule may be applicable to this picture. May be some of the left side of the picture can be cropped away?
